Heejung Ju is an active chamber musician and collaborative pianist. She received her early training as a solo pianist at Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and Ewha Womans University in Korea. During her studies in Korea, she performed with the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra as a prizewinner of several competitions and frequently collaborated in concert with faculty from Ewha Womans University.
Dr. Ju has performed in numerous instrumental master classes for distinguished artists including Glenn Dicterow, Cynthia Phelps, Wenzel Fuchs, Yehuda Gilad, Emmanuel Pahud, Ralph Kirshbaum, and Clive Greensmith. She has collaborated extensively with orchestras and choirs.
She earned both her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Keyboard Collaborative Arts under the guidance of Dr. Alan L. Smith at the USC Thornton School of Music. In Spring 2024, Dr. Ju joined the faculty of California State University, Long Beach as a Lecturer and collaborative pianist, where she is actively engaged in teaching and coaching instrumentalists. She also serves as a staff pianist at the Colburn School.
